Aimee York is a student at Governors State University in the Early Childhood Program, and will be graduating with her Bachelor’s in December 2019. As a part of that program, she is required to spend a semester as a student teacher working with and learning from an experienced teacher before embarking on her own career in the field of education. She has taught inside a classroom for a total of 12 years. She has learned the importance of bonding with each child, and creating a relationship with the parents. She has also been involved in a special recreation association working with special needs individuals for almost four years. She would like to teach first grade which will be a huge difference from her 12 years experience in the daycare center.

She is a leader of the Student Education Associate (SEA) and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society organizations in the Education program. She has been honored with being on the Dean’s list each semester she has been in the program.
